Finished

わたしの1ヶ月1000円ごほうび (adult comic essay-Japanese edition). I have an upcoming blog post that features this book. I adored it.

I Didn’t Do the Thing Today by Madeleine Dore. This book didn’t excite me at all; however, it’s not a terrible book by any means. There were occasional inspirational and actionable tidbits, but I might not have been the intended audience. Dore’s book might work better for those who are new to giving themselves grace for not doing all the things. Also, the writing style might be a bit off-putting to those who like things straight to the point; her style meanders slowly, so impatient readers (like myself) might not like it. Again, not bad on its own, just not for me sadly.

Goal reading to finish this week:

I’ve been switching books a lot, which is not helping me read more (besides that whole fatigue thing), so I’m making it a goal to finish the following this week:

The Red Notebook by Antoine Laurain

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. It’s a library book and someone’s requested it after me, so I’m short on time for finishing it.

Linked by Gordon Korman (middle grade fiction). This book has a hold by someone else, too, so I will try to finish it this week.

I can’t not have a nonfiction book on the reading list. I have several in my possession currently, but in writing an upcoming blog post featuring Stolen Focus by Johann Hari, I started researching monotasking, and came upon a book on the topic that I am excited to read and will pick up from the library today. The book is The Twelve Monotasks: Do One Thing at a Time to Do Everything Better by Thatcher Wine.
